A shelter for many floristic and faunal species

The Parco di Interesse Sovraccomunale del Basso Chiese extends over the floodplain and agricultural area of the river Chiese's plain stretch. It constitutes an important element which connects the Regional Parks of Mincio and Southern Oglio, the lower plain near Brescia and the adjacent Basso Mella Local Park. In those places where waters have not been constrained in narrow banks yet, it is possible to find the first woody formations characterizing fluvial environments: namely the white willows. These little woods play a significant landscape as well as ecological role as they break the monotony of the agricultural fields, and give fauna and flora a shelter at the same time. Many floristic species, little mammals and amphibians benefit from this opportunity.
