The restoration of the E1 path

Fauna "E1" path is an old "walk" starting in Norway, going down through Europe to our country until Sicily. The 20 th February a new tract has been opened which goes from Bocca di Magra ( a resort near the river Magra mouth ) to Portovenere (beatiful village of Roman origin ) through Montemarcello Park. The walk is the best way to discover a splendid area which marks the boundary between Liguria della Toscana, enjoying the history as well as the environment.


Opening of the botanical garden

Flora The garden of Montemarcello, born to apprieciate Caprione promontory, an area of major naturalistic interest, is found on top of Monte Murlo where it is possible to admire a vast landscape ranging from the Magra valley to the Apuane Alps.A guided tour is provided to distinguish plants according to vegetational types: mediterranean scrub, garigue, Aleppo pine wood and deciduous oakwood. The garden can be accessed by the Serra-Montemarcello provincial road walking on the dirt road from Gruzza through the trail n°1 linking Montemarcello to Zanego.

The opening will take place in April.


Naturalistic library

In the park home office a library is being set up ; customers will be able to consult collection of naturalistic, tecnical-scientific and literary texts concerning the local territory.
