CollinaPo Biosphere Reserve UNESCO Site - Man and Biosphere Programme

The project contributes to the building of an identifying landscape image of the urban area, promoting the CollinaPo geobrand within the Corona Verde program. The MAB Reserve belonging to the Po and Collina Torinese Protected Areas and to the surrounding territory, involving 85 municipalities, is promoted by the regional entity and developed with the economic support of the IREN, SMAT and GTT Group, and with the technical-scientific advice of the SiTI Institute of Turin. The territory became a Reserve in March 2016, and it features two elements of extreme interest from the natural point of view: the Po river and the Collina Torinese.

The numbers of the new reserve:
- 85 municipalities involved in the governance process
- 171,234 ha
- 14 nature reserves
- the core area: 3,853 ha
- a buffer zone corresponding to the Park: 21,161 ha.
