The archduke's garden: a UNESCO treasure

  • Trail Conditions: On foot

Since the 1970s, Miramare has been the heart of a UNESCO protected Biosphere Reserve, an elective place where natural and anthropic elements are combined in harmony, giving shape to a park where Nature, Art and History create a timeless atmosphere.
It is perfect for an overview of the characteristics of the karst-coastal area and its history, thanks to its geological, naturalistic and faunal conformation and its cultural aspects that turn around the Habsburgs' presence in Miramare. It could be explored with a pleasant guided walk along the paths, overlooking the woods or the sea, in the area around the Castle, where the conclusions of this itinerary will be drawn by visiting some targeted sections.
