Discover the Reserve
The Salse di Nirano Nature Reserve could be visited independently in compliance with the Regulations and the Founding Act of the Protected Area.
The most suitable time is spring; in summer it is recommended to avoid the hottest hours and above all the area of the gullies, because it is completely exposed to the sun. The Reserve becomes inhospitable after the rains due to the strongly clayey soil. In large groups with more that 10 people it is however required to inform the visit by filling in the attached form. It is also possible to ask for a guided tour at the price of 2 euros per person.
On Sundays and during holidays, it is possible to enjoy a free guided tour only if previously arranged with guides and ecological guards.
In addition to the prohibitions specified in the attached form, the Reserve Establishment Act and the Management Regulations forbid to:
- damage the lutivoma apparatus (cones) and the vegetation;
- remove and tamper with the mud;
- introduce objects into the apparatus;
- camp or stay longer than the time required to visit the Integral Nature Reserve area;
- access the Integral Nature Reserve area in the event of rain and at least in the next 2 hours;
- enter the Area one hour before dawn and one hour after sunset;
- leave the specially prepared and signposted paths.
