One of the largest stretches of plain woodland, with common oaks, white hornbeams, black alders and ossiferous ashes
The ZSC covers 145 hectares in the low Friuli plain, including an area formed by alluvial soils with emergencies of the phreatic zone. The site includes one of the last sections of white hornbeam and European oak forest in the Friuli-Venezia plain, which is phytogeographically different from those of the remaining Po valley for a greater presence of the Illyrian-Balkan element.
