It is a basin of glacial origin with a peaty stratum, but on the eastern side there are also gravelly deposits with three little dolinas which allow the drainage; the vegetation is represented by Caricetum distichae, Caricetum elatae, Caricetum rostratae, Caricetum vesicariae, Caricetum gracilis and moist meadows such as Caricetum davallianae.
