The name Valletta derives from the fact that this is a depression area compared to the surrounding hills, in fact these landscapes are characterized by the streams (known as "bevere") crossing them. The Local Park was founded to preserve agricultural and nature areas, both considering human presence and preservation of biodivsersity, always maintaining important ecological corridors while enhancing the traditional landscape. A network of bicycle and pedestrian tracks allow visitors to admire the nature and landscape features of the Valletta.
