The process to include the Alcantara Park on the UNESCO sites list has started
(Francavilla di Sicilia, 16 Jan 13) 2013 begins with the prestigious purpose of including the Park on the UNESCO
World Heritage list: in the last few days a visit to the territory was carried
out to evaluate the huge material and immaterial heritage of Alcantara Park's
territory, and to define the procedures of inscription.
With a large number of delegates being present, guided by the Count Giuseppe
Tindaro Toscano, President of the Unesco Club in Taormina, Alcantara and Agrò Valleys,
the guidelines of the next activities were defined.
Bruno De Vita welcomed the delegation of researchers and showed his great interest
to restart the activities to enhance the Alcantara Valley, also considering
that in 2010 this area was officially recognized as tourist locality of excellence.
