Parco dei Gessi Bolognesi e Calanchi dell'Abbadessa

Gessi della Croara Nature Trail leads to discover one of the most significant and fascinating places of Gessi Bolognesi e Calanchi dell'Abbadessa Regional Park, at the western edge of the protected area, in the territory of the Municipality of San Lazzaro di Savena and not far from the city of Bologna. The route mainly develops in the big doline of Spipola and touches the adjacent Miserazzano plateau, crossing a karstic area in Gessi which, for complexity and development, is one of the most important karstic areas in Europe.
