The Cahier describes in detail and with direct accounts the emigration in Salbertrand and in Alta Valle di Susa. A phenomenon involving many people who seasonally moved to France and, in some cases, whole families seeking their fortune overseas. Written by two historical memories from Salbertrand, the first part of the volume is dedicated to a general description of the phenomenon which goes into detail with demanding and moving cases, thanks to the usual method of the author Clelia Baccon, who never omits deeds and anecdotes making the reading more exciting. The second part is the result of Virgilio Faure's personal experience, who lived personally the experience of emigration and offers us an almost live account of this world which is so far for us.
