The Park on the scientific magazine “Water”
Published in the magazine "Water" a scientific article concerning the multi-temporal quantitative analysis of cadastral data and satellite photos, with the aim of evaluating land use transformations from 1954 to the present day in relation to the triggering of landslides in sample area (the Vernazza stream catchment area).
The results show that:
* The surface for current agricultural use has been reduced by about 4 times compared to 1954;
* The triggering of landslides is more frequent in recently abandoned areas;
* The phenomena triggered along cultivated areas have a lower magnitude than those triggered in areas recently or for a long time abandoned;
* The phase between the abandonment of the terraces and the development of thicker vegetation is the most critical for the stability of the slopes.
