Colbricón Small Lakes

  • Trail Conditions: On foot
  • Interest: Flora, Wildlife, Panorama
  • Departure: Passo Rolle

It is one of the itineraries giving the opportunity to observe and experience one of the most extraordinary natural settings of Paneveggio Pale di San Martino Park.
From the departure point of the route to Rolle Pass it will be possible to observe the wonderful panorama over Pale di San Martino with Cimon della Pala and Lagorai Chain. Along the itinerary, besides a vegetation rich in centuries-old arboreal species like larches and Swiss pines, it will also be possible to observe various specimens of alpine wildlife, like chamois, marmots, and eagles.

Duration: The whole itinerary can be followed in two ways.

  • The first one from Rolle Pass to Colbricón lakes, walking time: 30-40 minutes.
  • The second one gives the opportunity to go ahead (same trail marker) and take the downhill trail leading to San Martino di Castrozza, walking time: 2 hours.

From San Martino di Castrozza you can go back to the car park at Rolle Pass by bus (about 15 minutes).

Difference in height: The route develops from Malga Rolle (1,900m asl) shortly downstream of Rolle Pass (1,984m asl) and reaches the maximum altitude of 1,927m asl at Colbricón small lakes.
From here, the downhill trail towards San Martino di Castrozza begins (1,450m asl).
