The P.L.I.S. (Local Park extending over many municipalities) Valle del Lanza is characterized by the valley incisions of the rivers Olona and Lanza, with the typical historic and monumental finds (such as mills and dams) and the wetlands, the historic railway in Valmorea (no longer in use at the moment, but about to be reused for tourist and recreational purposes) the ridges and the summits of the hills, with the typical forest vegetation and the modest sandstone quarries.
