The Foce Sele-Tanagro Nature Reserve (about seven thousand hectares wide) extends along the coastline and the pine wood behind it, in the municipalities of Capaccio-Paestum and Eboli, and in the territory along the Sele, Tanagro and Calore rivers. It includes Persano Nature Oasis, a wetland of international interest hosting very rare plant and animal species. In the Reserve there are many thermal springs that were already known in the Roman age due to their healing properties.
The river corridors of Piana del Sele and Vallo di Diano are characterized by a widespread environmental quality and by many attractions (the Temples of Paestum, Certosa di Padula, Villa Aiala di Valva, caves of Castelcivita and Pertosa, Thermal Facilities…).
