The unique feature of the Nature Reserve, whose altitude ranges between 350 and 700 meters, is the presence of a marked microthermal phenomenon: cold air comes out from some "holes" in the ground, thus allowing the growth of a great number of alpine vegetable species which are unusual for this area and characteristic of the alpine environments.
