Explore the beautiful forests and marshes

Within easy reach of the historic town of Turku, the forests and marshes of Kurjenrahka are home to many wild animals and birds, including stately long-legged cranes and curious woodland owls. Ski-trails tour the silent snow-covered marshes in the winter.
In the Kurjenrahka National Park, the magic of the mire is reflected in the sway of the cotton grass (Eriophorum angustifolium) and colourful variations of the peat moss (Sphagnum). Large numbers of insects offer a feast for many birds in the area. Suitable for visitors of all ages all year. The yard of the Kurjenpesä Nature Information Hut is suitable for visitors with mobility difficulties.
