Each environment has characteristic noises and the bittersweet sound produced by the creaking of the pieces of shell that cover our beach is for the seafarers and for me one of the most fascinating and familiar.

It is never the same; the mussel produces low tones, the grooved razor shell acute ones, while the small tellins offer a rustling background and the resulting melody has always accompanied the long and peaceful walks of the people who frequent the beach and those who find there an intellectual refuge, at various times of the year….

The idea of ​​this small guide was born from all this: from the desire to still be able to observe children, young people and adults get excited in front of these treasures that our territory offers us; from the joy and restlessness that move small hands arranged in a bowl to chase small and fast fishes, floating seahorses and fast needlefish, or to lift, turn and dust shells in search of the one to be enclosed in our pocket.
