Product based on wheat flour and potatoes, with the characteristic "taut" and slightly bent shape.
The bread has been named after the fact that, before baking, it is slightly pulled.
Tirotto is a special kind of bread, with different variations: common Tirotto (with no added fat), Oil Tirotto (with added oil), Potato Tirotto (with oil and potatoes).
The excellent water quality (low in mineral content) and the pure air of Sassello are essential features to make a quality Tirotto.
It is included in the list of the Regional Atlas of Traditional Agri-foodstuffs approved with Ministerial Decree and in the Regional Atlas of Traditional Products edited by Regione Liguria, Agriculture and Tourism Department.
