The aim of this book is to provide a quick overview of the habitat of Murgia Materana in its great complexity.
Shortly, the publication tries to make accessible what researchers and experts have written on this precious heritage considering, in homogeneous areas, a series of routes that, if functionally organized, will give the opportunity to retrace in the territory the development of ancient civilizations and the old countryside usage, focusing on the "masserie" (farmsteads) and rupestrian churches of the area of Matera.
