Panoramic terraced lands make us catch a glimpse of the wide valley

The Collina di San Colombano, with its long-limbed development of about 8,000 meters heading north-west/south-east, and its average width of not much less than 2,000 meters on the axis north-east/south-west, is included in the bed of the river Lambro. The hill area is about 80 m higher than the average height of the plain and reaches a maximum altitude of 147 m above the sea level. The hill area represents one of the most typical isolated rises in the Po Valley and extends over 14.500 square kilometers so that it is part of the area covered by five municipalities belonging to three different provinces: San Colombano al Lambro (Province of Milano), for an area equal to 50% of its whole extent; Sant'Angelo Lodigiano and Graffignana (Province of Lodi); Miradolo Terme and Inverno e Monteleone (Province of Pavia).
