Characteristic Houses and Old Villages: Invillino

  • Trail Conditions: On foot

The town of Invillino is much more ancient than the administrative center. The coins and small objects found in the area witness the existence of a settlement already since the first century AD. Until the 19th century, Invillino was the most important town center of the area, both as administrative and economic center, while Villa was only a country hamlet. The examples of the characteristic architecture of Carnia dating back to the 17th and 18th century that are still preserved in Invillino witness the richness of the town in these periods.

Villa Venier: large three-floor building completed with a loft, with abundant wooden superstructures. It includes an inner courtyard with a stavolo facing it. In the west, the noble master's Villa, built in the early 20th century, delimits the yard.
