In the vicinity of the the hermitage of Saint Anthony in Mesco (11th century), from the crossroads between trail 590 from Monterosso and the stretch of 591 arriving from Termine, the trail begins to ascend. Nearby a small observation tower the trail bends leftbound heading toward the sea, and offering astonishing views of the coastline and of the Mesco promontory. The trail runs on partly rocky soil along a a pinewood spoilt by the plant disease Matsucoccus, until it reaches the scattered houses called Case Lovara, a site recently recovered and reconverted to agriculture.
Among the luxuriant Mediterranean scrub the trail continues apparently flat toward Rocca Spaccata, and then descends through a wood of holm oaks. Nearby the hotel Giada del Mesco the trail leaves the Park's territory, and continues until Levanto among scattered houses and cultivated fields.
