Meeting point: Gabbiano Beach Tourist Area, at seven km from Vieste along the coast road leading to Peschici. The site, a very important Paleochristian necropolis dating back approximately to the 3rd - 4th century, includes graves both in the soil and in the walls.
It is also a site of great naturalistic importance for the amphibians and reptiles - difficult to see during the winter - and for the presence of barn owls and Eurasian jays, and for the presence of considerable vegetational formations, to the extent that it has become WWF nature sanctuary.
