Cagnano Varano

A few kilometers from Cagnano Varano, along a fascinating valley, you will find Saint Michael the Archangel Cave. The entrance, of karstic origin like the more famous cave in Monte Sant'Angelo, boasts very ancient settlements, probably dating back to the Paleolithic Age. This place attracts still today several pilgrims, also for the miraculous virtues of the so-called "Pila di Santa Lucia", a small calcareous cavity collecting the dripping of water of the cave.
