Val di Viso

On foot         Great Interest: Hystory
  • Departure: Pezzo
  • Duration: 4 hour/s 30 minutes

This itinerary, developing in the Park territory in the Province of Brescia, is a ring-route to carry out on foot in about 4 hours and a half. It gives the opportunity to observe various landscape features and wonderful views of the ancient relict settlements witnessing the economy of these valleys, characterized for centuries by stock rearing. It also gives the opportunity to observe several WWI finds like trenches, shelters, and barbed wire.
After reaching the village of Pezzo, go ahead on foot along a military road climbing to Bozzi Mountain Hut, near the small lake of Montozzo. From the mountain hut, take the trail of Alta Val Camuna leading to Ercavallo plateau (2,621m asl) where you will find eleven small alpine lakes whose shores are characterized by a great floristic diversity: here it is possible to observe rather rare specimens. Moreover, from this place you will enjoy the wonderful view of Adamello and Presanella mountain groups, as well as of Corno dei Tre Signori. The downhill trail leads south, near the tributary stream of river Oglio. The pastures along the stream are scattered with numberless marmot dens. The trail goes quickly downhill and leads without difficulties to the small road at the valley bottom leading back to Case di Viso.
