Ruatti Mill

A patch of ancient life in Val di Rabbi

A 19th century building, today it represents one of the very few working watermills.
The renovation works in 2004 enabled its recovery not for production but for didactic purposes, with the creation of a house-museum witnessing the mountain rural archeology.
Outside, the mill preserves the traditional features of these buildings. Its key point is the big wooden wheel connected with channels that, from torrent Rabbi, bring water here. On the façade there is a fresco of Madonna of Caravaggio, protecting travelers, and St Catherine of Alexandria, patron of millers.
It is possible to visit the stable with the characteristic wooden troughs, the kitchen with the characteristic fireside of Trentino, the master bedroom with the big bed in the middle of it, the parlor, the attic, and the room of the servants.
