Il concentrico

To build the Palazzina di Caccia in Stupinigi, four farmsteads had had to be demolished; the remaining ones, which were already in poor conditions, were insufficient to perform the necessary agricultural activities. It was therefore decided to demolish eight more farmsteads, and to build twelve new farms in their place. The settlement scheme and the logic behind the farms of the Concentrico di Stupinigi are different from traditional farmstead structure.

This is because the whole complex - including buildings that were annexed to the farm, such as ice-house, inn, granaries, kennels and stables - had been unitarily conceived to serve the Palazzina. The twelve farms were built along the main road, not only for scenery purposes, but also to better and more fairly allot land: all the farms had the same amount of properties, and their buildings were of the same quality, and placed in similar positions. Naming each farm after a saint dates back to the end of the XIX century.

The Park Infopoint is situated in one of these farms.
