The Reserve, covering 170 hectares, is situated among the towns of Pancalieri in the north, Casalgrasso in the east, and Polonghera in the south. The Varaita is the second big tributary of the river Po (on the right bank) after the Pellice. In the last decades, the woodlands have been cultivated, and now you find an agricultural landscape dominated by sowing fields, poplar-woods, and orchards. Along the banks of the two watercourses is still present a rare woody belt.
