Niviano tower

The truncated tower of Niviano, now in ruins, was part of a castle built to control the Lerna valley and the road to Sassoguidano. The village church stood by the tower, but was moved to the road to Lavacchio at the end of the 19th century. The Oratory of St. Rocco is still visible, albeit in precarious conditions: it was built in memory of the plague of 1630 and restored in the mid-19th century.
