History, Landscape, and Man
The reserve protects a territory which has maintained particularly intact, in some places still uncontaminated: the "coast of the lemons" offers a charming landscape and views going from Etna to the coasts of Calabria, among expanses of citrus trees scattered by beautiful farmsteads. At the foot of Timpa there is the small seaside country hamlet of Santa Maria La Scala, that can also be reached by climbing a steep stairway from where you can enjoy a wonderful panorama.
