Riserva Naturale Orientata Isola di Vulcano

The presence of man in this site dates back to the proto-historic period: evidences of his passage can be found in several artificial caves (the so-called "Grotte dei Rossi") dug in tuff, which probably had a graveyard function. The landscape of the island is characterized by a series of terracing works, orchards, and vineyards.
