We are in one of the so-called extension areas, which became a Park in 2018, after years of citizens' struggles to save this stretch of the Roman countryside from new cement pours. The countryside stretches in leaps and bounds at the foot of the ancient Vulcano Laziale, and we wander through fields used for grazing and vineyards that fade as far as the eye can see.
