An Environmental and Cultural Heritage with Deep Historical Roots

Established with L.R. 10.10.1989 no. 38, the Park includes, totally or in part, 15 Municipalities and covers an area of about 18,694 ha. Here you will find the highest hills of the Po Plain, in the south-west of Padova (the highest hill, Mt. Venda, reaches 601m). The particular location and volcanic origin, the various climatic conditions, as well as the active human presence since ancient times make the Park a unique territory for its natural treasures, landscape, environment, culture, art, and social-economic aspects. With the Establishment Law and the recent approval of the Environmental Plan, the Park has been provided with adequate instruments to protect the environment, to promote the social and economic development of its territory according to sustainability principles.
