The Park, with its many natural habitats, the wide arable lands being the protagonists of projects for the safeguard of the organic farming, the olive groves; the Via Traiana, the archaeological sites and those having a historical-cultural importance, the historical "masserie" (typical ancient farms) and the underground olive oil mills, the "lame" (not very deep erosive cracks), the rocky settlements, the accommodation facilities and the quality labelled businesses of the Park, the built-up areas: a structured territory rich in values that must be protected and promoted, an area where the Dune Costiere Regional Nature Park - one of the most interesting ones in South Italy - plays an important role as far as the protection of the environment and the sustainable economic development are concerned.
