A loop hike to be walked clockwise from any point of departure. It includes the main geological and archaeological features for which the area was made a Regional Park. From Millesimo take Province Road SP51 to via Boschetto, a steep tarmac road that soon turns into a track in the wood and intersects the main loop, whose point of departure is Cascina Rocchini. The first stop is Tana dell'Orpe, an important geological site from the Bronze Age; fossils in the nearby cave show how the place had its origin under the sea. Going further along the wide road, some dolines and sinkholes can be observed. The road then goes uphill, to a fork that connects with the place known as "La Colla". Turn right on the dirt road that crosses Rocchini di Sopra, offering a beautiful view over Millesimo and Cosseria to the right, and over the woods of Bric della Feia to the left. Turn left at the fork and enter the chestnut wood. A detour leads to the Menhir area, which shows how the megalithic culture was widespread in Val Bormida. Walk back to the main trail, which gets narrower downhill through the thick forest, and reaches Cascina Rocchini. Further on, you'll return to the connection route you prefer.
