Parco Regionale dei Colli Euganei

Unlike numerous quarry walls, formed by human intervention, Rocca Pendice is a natural wall: geologically speaking, it is a vein of volcanic rock (trachyte) which outcrops from the softer, eroded sedimentary rocks beneath. Colli Euganei Park Authority has recently acquired most of this area, which is traditionally used for climbing and attracts many enthusiasts of this discipline.
