What is it for?
The Environmental education (EE) is used to build a sustainable society through the citizenship's education and the promotion of critical and proactive behaviours towards the environment. It is also used to create an emphatic relationship between people and nature.>>>
School tourism (proposed by the schools of first and second grade of the Tuscan and central-northern Italy) has a particular importance especially from March to May, when the Park offers museum trails, guided visits and didactic workshops.
The workshops are proposed together with many other activities - such as the visit to the museum facilities ( Museo della Miniera, Museo Storia e Arte delle Miniere in Massa Marittima; Museo del Ferro e della Ghisa in Follonica, Museo Minerario in Galleria in Gavorrano etc.); the visit to the museum trails (Miniera Marchi di Ravi in Gavorrano, Parco delle Biancane) and the equipped trekking trails (Percorso dei pozzini antichi in Massa Marittima) - and they offer visitors the opportunity to delve into specific themes together with expert naturalists. The main themes are: natural science; geology; but also archaeology; environmental education; anthropology etc.
The Didactic Center of the Finoria Environmental Education Laboratory offers the opportunity to take part in the thematic activities focused on geology, mineralogy and petrography, through the handling and the direct observation of the finds, and through the use of audiovisual and laboratory tools.
