Bergamot Museum

Created thanks to the efforts of the International Bergamot Academy, the Museum is located in the historic centre of Reggio Calabria. The Bergamot Museum is a real treasure for the collective memory of the people of Calabria and Reggio Calabria in particular, as it allows visitors to take a step back in time and trace the history of the cultivation and processing of this citrus fruit through numerous rare tools and equipment: from the first machinery used for extraction, dating back to the early eighteenth century, through the steam engines of the nineteenth century, to the electric motors of the early twentieth century, all enriched by a splendid photographic documentation of great historical importance.
