Education
The Environmental Education project "Segni, impronte e armonie di un Aspromonte che educa" involves 10 schools, 50 classes and 1,000 students in the municipalities of the Aspromonte National Park.
The objectives are: to promote values, train skills, develop talents, encourage a correct behaviour towards nature/environment/landscape and geo-biodiversity; to guarantee a widespread educational action in schools and to promote awareness among citizens of the issues addressed; to carry out, in addition to didactic activities, guided tours, public and informative events, publications and travelling exhibitions; to address the economic, social, environmental and cultural dimensions of the issues addressed. The project meetings will take place in schools, at the Park's Visitor Centres and in the Biodiversity Observatory (lectures, seminars and workshops, laboratory exercises, reconstruction of environments through dioramas, etc.), guided tours in nature; public and popular events, storytelling, publications and artistic productions (creation of multimedia and audiovisual products, land art, etc.).
The disciplinary and educational areas involved are: Botany, Fauna, Entomology, Geology, Landscape, Astronomy, through 2 didactic-integrative modules with indoor activities (classroom and laboratories) and in nature. These activities will also focus on sustainable development and green jobs. Students will have the opportunity to learn about the problems and critical issues affecting the bio-geodiversity of the Park, with particular reference to the most delicate landscapes, species and habitats.
