Walk between nature and history
After parking the car near "Pietra Nera", a dark ophiolite standing out for its isolated position, take at first the uphill trail leading to the small artificial lake and you will get to the top of the rocky spur by following a short but steep trail crossing an environment characterized by plants usually growing in dry and sunny environments.
Once you reach the top, you can observe the whole Stirone Valley and, on the opposite slope, the town of Vigoleno; when the sky is clear, you can even admire the alpine chain in the north. Go down along the same itinerary and reach the SS road; cross the bridge on Stirone which separates the Province of Parma from the Province of Piacenza, turn right and cross the town of Case Trabucchi, a characteristic locality for its rural buildings. After leaving the town, walk along the main road until you take the trail towards the stream on the right. After about 500 meters, you will get to the recreational area "Trabucchi", with tables, benches, and barbecues, and an accessible wooden ring-route for people with disabilities. The surrounding area is very important for the Park, since it is characterized by the presence of several species of protected flora, above all orchids.
