A few people know that Autostrada dei Fiori near Ceriale crosses the important fossil deposit of Rio Torsero, a regional natural reserve. The area is worldwide known among the paleontologists for the abundancy, the variety, and the exceptional state of perservation of fossils that date back to the Pliocene Era. Interesting finds can be observed in the museum of the Reserve in Peagna, which is provided with up-to-date research and didactic instruments.
