This volume was born thanks to the will of the Nature Reserve Administration, that has understood the need to present the local herpetofauna to the Communities living in the area.
As we know, reptiles - and in particular snakes - have always aroused in many people feelings of fear and disgust, maybe because of the many legends and superstitions that have always surrounded them and that have led to believe that these vertebrates are all slimy, poisonous, and dangerous.
The main aim of this publication is to promote a better knowledge of the amphibians and reptiles living in our territory and, through knowledge, promote their respect and consideration.
