Products

The agricultural products of the Park and Samoggia Valley are representative of the territory of the hills of Bologna. They are the result of a careful and scrupulous agricultural food chain characterized by the respect of the environment in all the stages of the production. The honorable mention goes without a doubt to the vine, whose origins date back to ancient times in the history of the territory: the several DOC wines of Colli Bolognesi (Pignoletto, Chardonnay, white Pinot, Sauvignon, Cabernet Sauvignon, Barbera, Merlot) are appreciated today not only at a local level.
The wonderful seasonal blossoming ensures a production of top-quality honey (mixed flowers, acacia, cherry tree, lime tree...). The area is also characterized by a rich production of fruits (cherries, plums, pears, apples, apricots, medlars, pomegranates, and other forgotten fruits), aromatic herbs and vegetables and, in the surroundings, cheese and cold cuts of the local tradition.
As a result of an interesting project carried out by the Park, several traditional varieties of apples, pears, and grapes have been brought back: they include the famous golden Chasselas, rich in history and taste. Moreover, small olive tree groves based on autochthonous varieties have been planted, also with the aim to recover the historical and landscape value of this essence. For some time the Park, besides promoting local agricultural holdings during its initiatives, directly deals with the sale of some of their products.
