The route develops along the piedmont strip of the south-western slope of Mt. Gennaro, where you can appreciate human signs belonging to the ancient rural model, like ruins of dry-stone structures, the areas of the ancient and famous Sabini olive groves, demarcation hedges with archaeological and historical features of great value like the large group of Roman terracing and the imposing ruins of Castiglione castrum. The itinerary develops at the edges of the thick and luxuriant formation of ilex tree and downy oak maquis growing together with the Mediterranean maquis and interesting essences of Balkan origins.
