The Park includes the upper stretch of the river Oglio flowing out from Iseo Lake, up to Gabbioneta and Ostiano, among steep banks covered with woodlands and surrounded by a typically agricultural territory. Here you can find riparian areas covered with woodlands of great botanical value, as well as stretches of water and meanders with aquatic vegetation. The Park is also characterized by important historical and architectural treasures in the Municipalities facing the river, like the well-preserved Pumenengo Castle, with its towers and the characteristic quadrangular court, and the ruins of Paratico and Roccafranca Castles
