By Car
From the exit Modena Sud (A1)
To get to Montecreto, Pievepelago, Fiumalbo (central Park area)
After taking the exit Modena Sud, turn right (SP623, Strada Vignolese) in direction Modena and follow the road for 2.3 km.
Once you get to the roundabout, take the third exit to via Nuova
Estense (SS12) and follow the road for 62 km: follow the directions to
Pavullo/Abetone. Once you get to Pavullo, go ahead: you will go past
the towns Lama Mocogno, Borra, Sanatorio, Fignola, La Santona,
Barigazzo, and Pra di Sotto.
From Pra di Sotto, go ahead along via Giardini SS12 for 11 km. Once you
get to Sant'Andrea Pelago, go ahead in direction Pievepelago. Once you
get to Pievepelago you can continue to Fiumalbo and find the directions
to Montecreto.
If
you want to reach Montecreto directly: after Pavullo, in Gaianello turn
left to SP31 and go ahead for about 15 km. You will get to Montecreto
(where you can go ahead to Sestola and to Fanano).
- Travelling time: about 1 hour and a half (82 km).
From the exit Modena Sud (A1)
To get to Fanano, Sestola, Fellicarolo, Ospitale (north-eastern area of the Park)
At the exit Modena Sud, turn left in direction Vignola (SP623, Strada Vignolese). After passing the sign "Città di Vignola", at the second traffic-light turn right. You will get to two roundabouts: go straight on. From Vignola continue for about 42 km, and you will get to Fanano. At about 8 km from Fanano, you will get to Sestola (follow the directions).
- Travelling time: about 1 hour (58 km).
From Abetone: Pievepelago and Fiumalbo
If you come from SS road 12 dell'Abetone (Pistoia), go ahead along the SS12 in direction Fiumalbo/Pievepelago for about 12.2 km.
You will get to Fiumalbo and Pievepelago, Municipalities situated in the central area of Frignano Park.
- Travelling time: about 15 minutes (12.5 km).
From Radici Pass
If you come from Radici Pass (Lucca), you can get to Piandelagotti and Frassinoro (western area of the Park) or to all the other Municipalities situated in its eastern section, crossing all the territory of Frignano Park until you get to the opposite border with Appennino bolognese.
From the exit Modena Nord (A1 or A22) and from Sassuolo
To get to Frassinoro, Piandelagotti (north-western area of the Park)
After
leaving the highway, at the first roundabout take the first exit on the
right. After 300m, at the junction, take the southern ringroad in
direction Sassuolo/Maranello/Abetone and go ahead to Sassuolo.
Once
you get to Sassuolo, take the SS486r via Filippo Turati and follow it
for 23 km, following the directions to Montefiorino. After passing the
town of Montefiorino, follow the directions to Frassinoro, you will get
to after 10 km.
- Travelling time: about 1 hour and 20 minutes (65 km).
As an alternative
From the exit Modena Nord (A1 or A22)
To get to Montecreto, Pievepelago, Fiumalbo (central Park area)
After
leaving the highway, at the first roundabout take the first exit on the
right. After 300 meters, at the junction, take the southern ringroad in
direction Sassuolo/Maranello/Abetone and go ahead for 3 km.
Take
the exit 18, direction Formigine/Maranello/Abetone and go ahead until
the end of the ringroad for 6 km. At the roundabout, take the first
exit in direction Maranello and continue along this road for 60 km.
Once you get to Pavullo, go ahead: you will pass by the towns of Lama
Mocogno, Borra, Sanatorio, Fignola, La Santona, Barigazzo, and Pra di
Sotto.
From Pra di Sotto continue along via Giardini SS12 for 11 km. Once you
get to Sant'Andrea Pelago, go ahead in direction Pievepelago. Once you
get to Pievepelago you can continue to Fiumalbo (and find the
directions to Montecreto): after passing the town by (in via Tamburù 8,
the Park headquarters) you will get to the central area of Frignano Park.
If you want to reach Montecreto directly: after Pavullo, in Gaianello
turn left to SP31 and go ahead for abotu 15 km. You will get to
Montecreto (where you can go ahead to Sestola and to Fanano).
- Travelling time: about 1 hour and a half (83 km).
From the exit Modena Nord (A1 or A22)
To get to Fanano, Sestola, Fellicarolo, Ospitale (north-eastern area of the Park)
After leaving the highway, at the first roundabout take the first exit and, at the junction, follow the directions to the northern ringroad, always following the directions to Vignola. After about 30 km you will get to Vignola: after passing the sign "Città di Vignola", at the second traffic-light turn right. You will get to two roundabouts: go straight on. From Vignola continue for about 42 km, and you will get to Fanano. At about 8 km from Fanano, you will get to Sestola (follow the directions).
- Travelling time: about 1 hour and 20 minutes (71 km).
By Train and by Bus
The nearest railway stations are in Modena and Pistoia. If you come from Bologna, you can take the suburban line connecting Bologna railway station with Vignola. From here you can go ahead by taking the bus.
- To get to Pievepelago, Fiumalbo
From Modena you can take the line 800 Modena - Maranello - Pavullo - Pievepelago - Abetone.
- To get to Fanano
From Modena and Vignola you can take the line 730 Modena - Vignola - Fanano - Sestola.
- To get to Piandelagotti
The line 600 leaves from Sassuolo and gets to Montefiorino and Piandelagotti.
By Plane
The nearest airports are Guglielmo Marconi in Bologna at about 70 kilometers, Amerigo Vespucci in Florence at 80 km, and Galileo Galilei in Pisa at 101 km.
