Itinerary along the Mincio drainage canal

From Marengo, in front of the Mn-Peschiera cycling-pedestrian lane, once reached the stop sign uphill in front of Marengo's built-up area, turn left towards Goito. After a few meters on the right side there are the hydraulic structures of the artificial canal and an unattended parking area.
The itinerary develops on a level ground, therefore it is suitable for all (even for children) and it can be covered following a stretch of the Mantova-Peschiera cycle lane along the left bank of the artificial drainage canal towards Pozzolo, where the canal itself is originated by the river Mincio. In the open and green landscape before the first morenic elevations south of Garda lake, one borders the significant work in the water system of the Garda-Mincio, and it is possible to see the many points of naturalistic interest offered by a land rich in plant and animal species despite the clear signs of anthropic presence, which deeply changes the landscape.
