Nature, Culture, Art, and History

The Park is situated in the eastern part of Lombardy and extends itself between the regional border in the north and the river Po in the south, including the valley of the river Mincio as well. The territory is varied: from the morainic hills to the terraced plain, from the meander-shaped area with paleoriverbeds to the lakes of Mantua, the wonderful wetlands of Mincio Valleys and the plain woodlands of Bosco Fontana. The system of locks and historical channels is remarkable, as well as the artistic and architectural heritage including S. Maria delle Grazie Sanctuary, S. Maria degli Angeli Church, and the several villas of the Gonzaga period.
