Along the pedestrian and cycle route that flanks the Ponte di San Giorgio towards the Castle of San Giorgio (4), on the left you can skirt the Gonzaga lakefront (5) until you reach the pedestrian and cycle bridge of Porto Catena (), which leads to the district of Valletta Valsecchi and Vicolo Maestro (6), a long path that winds between the shore of Lago di Mezzo and the neighborhood. From Vicolo Maestro you can take via Ariosto, cross the Baden Powell gardens and, through the underpass of Via Brennero (7), reach Bosco Virgiliano (8), five hectares of public park dedicated to the Latin poet Virgil who was born in Andes, a village not far from Mantua now identified in the town of Pietole. Here, by intercepting via Learco Guerra, you can go as far as the path along the levee of the Mincio and arrive at the Vallazza Nature Reserve with its marina (9 , ), near the Napoleonic fortification of Pietole ().
